The Big Wine Event
The Wine Run is an annual event held in Lanzarote, where participants have the opportunity to either run or walk through the scenic wine region. Along the route, they can make stops to savor tapas and wine from local producers before culminating the event with a fantastic party featuring food.
The 2024 Wine Run is scheduled for June 16th 2024, and registration is currently open.
Taking place over a weekend in Uga, the event not only includes the main run but also boasts a food festival and concert. On Sunday, participants can choose between a long 23km race or a shorter 12km race, with separate groups for runners and walkers. After the race, attendees can enjoy the food festival and concert festivities.
Registration is mandatory for all distances. The course offers breathtaking views as it winds through Lanzarote’s stunning wine region, albeit with challenging terrain comprising volcanic ash, rock, and dirt tracks. Additionally, walkers embarking on the 12km trek have the added bonus of wine tasting opportunities along the route, courtesy of various local bodegas.
